Commercial Water Damage

Water Damage in housing facility Commercial Property Water Damage

Water damage can strike your commercial property at any time. Water damage can sideline your business, regardless if the damage occurs from a major storm event or a broken water line. Every hour spent cleaning up is an hour of lost revenue and productivity. So when you have an emergency water event, SERVPRO Pomona / La Verne, provides 24 hour emergency services, 365 days per year.

The Daumier

The Daumier is a beautiful housing facility that is partnered with Western University of Health Sciences.
In April 2018, the Daumier experienced a large water loss. The loss potentially meant relocating or possibly losing tenants. SERVPRO responded to the call which came in after hours, and arrived within the hour to begin water extraction. Over the next few days we were able to utilize "In Place Drying". Generally with multiple floors affected, demolition is required, but in this case we saved the building and no materials had to be removed. Not a single tenant was displaced during this unfortunate event.

... "Like it never even happened."

Thermal Imaging

The Daumier experienced a water loss that affected multiple floors. One of our more resourceful tools, FLIR, a thermal imaging camera that provides a visual moisture map. FLIR allowed our technicians to navigate through the loss site at a faster pace when determining our scope of work.

Testimonial

"The team at SERVPRO was very fast and accommodating to our needs. We had an after hours water issue and they were able to assemble an extraction and cleaning crew very quickly. Mike and Danny were awesome with their communication and keeping us updated on what needed to happen. We appreciate their efforts in minimizing the effects on our residents, quick clean-up, and follow through. Thanks SERVPRO!"

Asbestos Abatement

Asbestos

According to the United States Environmental protection Agency, Asbestos is a mineral fiber that occurs in  rock and soil.  It is commonly found in building materials such as: vinyl floor tiles, vinyl sheet flooring and adhesives. Asbestos containing materials (ACM), may also include textured paint, patching compounds, insulation , ducts and wraps, and roofing  materials.
Although the material was of great use for heat resistant building materials, it was found that people exposed to asbestos suffered health complications.
Today, we know that exposure to asbestos is a leading cause of Asbestosis, a lung disease resulting from the inhalation of asbestos particles, marked by severe fibrosis and a high risk of mesothelioma (cancer of the pleura).
This is why any time you are dealing with a damaged building  and demolition is required, asbestos has to be taken into serious consideration.

With sixteen years of  experience in the residential and commercial restoration industry, we have had the opportunity to learn how to best serve our customers needs. Understanding the importance of asbestos and finding that is was prevalent in many of our jobs only helped solidify our decision to include it as part of our services. Being a certified Asbestos Abatement company saves customers the hassle of having to hire an additional vendor.

We are thrilled to mark our seventh year as being one of the few SERVPRO franchises that is an certified

North Pomona/ La Verne Wildfire Damage Event

Fire in the hills Fire in the hills

The active wildfires here in Southern California are increasing their impact as growing Santa Ana winds add fuel to these devastating blazes that are encroaching in our area. According to the New York Times, new fires broke out in Malibu on December 7, with at least 96,000 acres already burned in the Ventura area and 116,000 acres in Los Angeles County. Evacuations have closed hundreds of schools and forced 200,000 of our neighbors to seek safety. The “Thomas Fire” in the Ventura area continues to burn with the aid of strong winds. This fire has caused the closure of the 101 freeway and a boil-water advisory was issued for Ventura County. Santa Ana winds The Santa Ana winds that are enabling the fires to rapidly increase their reach can have speeds in excess of 60 miles per hour. They are not expected to diminish until Friday into Saturday at the earliest. The National Weather Service has warned of “very rapid fire growth” in this area. SERVPRO Meteorologist Lela Davis said that the Santa Ana winds were already very dry when they reached the Southern California valley, allowing them to quickly pull moisture out of vegetation, increasing the risk for wildfires. For the first time ever, a purple wind warning was issued for today under the color-coded system used to advise about high winds. This purple warning pushed wind expectations from the “high” category to “extreme”. Ready to help Here at SERVPRO of North Pomona/ La Verne we are monitoring this wildfire situation closely. Our thoughts are with those neighbors who may be put in harms’ way during this event. In many cases, a wildfire can result in a total loss for a home or business, but in others it may be a partial loss, or can result in mild smoke damage. If your home or business is affected by a wildfire, SERVPRO of North Pomona/ La Verne is Here to Help®.
